This is a vid long in the making. This past December, we bade farewell to the old look of the master bathroom and refurbished it! No more vinyl flooring and wallpaper – it’s all tile now! Although not filmed, we also replaced our old shower head with a rain shower head and we also upgraded the sink and vanity. We wanted to replace the tub/shower combo with a stand-up shower, but since it’s the only shower in the house and it would be a lengthy process to replace, we decided to keep it, plus, if the house gets sold to people who have little kids, they’re going to need a tub. Believe it or not, originally we did not anticipate replacing the old Eljer toilet, but after I finally took advantage of replacing the awful old fill valve with a new fluid master one, there ended up being a leak somewhere within the toilet that had the fluid master fill valve kicking on and off once a minute. Unable to find the cause, we ended up getting rid of the Eljer and installing a new American Standard H2Option dual flush toilet! The partial flush is 1.0 gallons and the full flush is the usual 1.6 gallons. Despite what one may think and contrary to the videos online, I find this toilet actually clogs fairly easily. Fortunately for me, I won’t be using it a lot in the future, as I no longer reside in this house!
Anyway, enjoy the vid of the new bathroom!
DIY siphon pump using Home Depot or Lowes garden hose, hose connectors and PVC pipe.
Pressure is coming from a garden hose.
Video shows how to empty 5 gallons of water or liquid from a 5 gallon pail. Liquid could be from a turtle pond, fish tank or a flooded irrigation box.
I did not want to waste 6.5 gallons of water by pumping onto ground or into a drain. I later used those 6.5 gallons of water in white pail to water some tomato plants.
