Unfortunately, the aerator wrench was the wrong size for our faucet. The wrench that came with the faucet was thrown away with the packaging and now we are trying to find a replacement. There were two models available and I should have just bought both. If I had realized we would need a special tool to remove the faucet filter, I would not have bought this particular faucet set. Also, I would have thought Delta would have a universal replacement. We have well water and particles will catch in the faucet aerators. All the other faucets in our home have aerators that unscrew for cleaning, It just takes a minute. This has been a nuisance. Talbot’s soft curves and subtle flares convey a traditional feel. I had lost water pressure from my Delta Sink model 21902LF-SS and needed an aerator wrench to remove and clean the gunk out. I knew it was the aerator because my hand-held sprayer worked just fine. This wrench works as intended but is made of REALLY cheap plastic. You would think for $12 they would have made it out of better material. My aerator had a lot of calcium crust from all the hard water, so it was extremely hard to unscrew it with this cheap wrench. I thought I would definitely break the teeth on it. What I did was grab a ziplock bag, fill it with some CLR (I’m sure vinegar works too), and submerged the tip of the faucet in the bag for about 10 minutes. I was able to finally twist the aerator off with the wrench. Delta Faucet RP46858 Talbott, Aerator Wrench
Calcium deposits, limescale and hard water are some of the most noticeable and unsightly problems that homeowners deal with. Store-bought products can temporarily remove it, but it always seems to come back. Here are some suggestions on how to avoid it all together.
